FCC Proposes All Mobile Phones be Hearing Aid Compatible

Weekend Maintenance for FCC's Equipment Authorization System (EAS)

On December 13, 2023, The Federal Communications Commission The Federal Communications Commission proposed that 100% of wireless handsets— namely mobile phones and smartphones—offered
for sale in the United States be fully hearing aid compatibility (HAC).

The Commission will take comment on next steps including leveraging advances in Bluetooth technology. The FCC media release can be viewed here.
